Ontario Hockey Academy (OHA) is a premier private boarding school dedicated to developing student-athletes both academically and athletically. We provide an Ontario Ministry of Education accredited academic program while helping students pursue their hockey goals in a structured, supportive environment.
We are seeking an experienced, student-focused Vice Principal to join our leadership team. This individual will play a key role in maintaining academic excellence, supporting students and staff, and fostering a positive school culture.
Position Summary:
The Vice Principal will work closely with the Principal and leadership team to oversee the day-to-day operations of the academic program. The successful candidate will provide leadership to teachers, support student success, assist with school administration, and help ensure compliance with Ontario Ministry of Education requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Principal in the daily operation of the school.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to teaching staff.
- Promote a positive, safe, and respectful learning environment.
- Assist with student discipline, attendance, and behavioural support.
- Monitor student academic progress and work with teachers and families to promote success.
- Assist with course scheduling, timetabling, and report card processes.
- Ensure compliance with Ontario Ministry of Education policies and procedures.
- Participate in parent meetings, student interviews, and school events.
- Support accreditation requirements and school improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with academic and athletic departments to support the unique needs of student-athletes.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous teaching and educational leadership experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of Ontario curriculum and Ministry of Education policies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Experience in a private school or boarding school environment is considered an asset.
